Why do we love to use cocoa butter?
Rich in natural antioxidants, this ingredient enables us to keep our bubble bars naked - free from preservatives. Bundled with stearic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid, it’s an excellent moisturiser helping to soften and condition our skin.
Where do we get this wonderfully chocolatey smelling butter from?
The cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) grows in warm, humid forests near the equator. After the cocoa beans have been harvested, they are fermented and dried before being roasted. The roasting process separates the cocoa nibs from their skins. The nibs are then ground to create a chocolate liquor (a fancy chocolatiers term for liquid) which is finally pressed to obtain cocoa butter. Our cocoa butter is not refind further, we want to keep the familiar chocolate scent and its original magnolia colour.
