What Are Toothpaste Tablets?

Benefits of Dental Crush Toothpaste Tablets
1. Travel-Friendly (TSA approved)
You no longer have to worry about sticky toothpaste spills in your hand luggage. Toothpaste tablets are less bulky than a tube of toothpaste, making them ideal for those who travel light.
2. Taste
You won’t be sacrificing the mint taste of toothpaste, the same refreshing feeling is achieved after brushing with Dental Crush.
3. Eco-friendly
Every year, Europeans generate 25m tonnes of plastic waste, but less than 30% is collected for recycling. More than 80% of marine litter is plastic.
Although dentists recommend adults to use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste, most users apply excess, generating more plastic tubes and more landfill waste.
Dental Crush uses less packaging than conventional toothpaste. One packet of Dental Crush uses only 4g of packaging for a 2 month's supply.
4. Gentle on your enamel
There are no harsh abrasive chemicals that could damage your enamel. The microcrystalline cellulose (derived from plants) polishes the surface of your teeth.
5. No nasty chemicals
Standard toothpaste contains an array of chemical ingredients that attribute to the physical properties of toothpaste, including foaming and stabilising agents. We say no to SLS, triclosan and DEA. You won’t find these ingredients in our toothpaste tablets or any of our products. See our list of ingredients we avoid.
6. No more guesswork
You no longer have to guess how much of your gel dentifrice to apply to your toothbrush. Use one toothpaste tablet in the morning and one in the evening.
7. Goodbye to the plastic tube
Gone is the messy tube. There's no awkward squeezing to get the last bits of paste out.
8. No glass jar needed
Our packaging is resealable to keep your toothpaste tablets fresh and minty.
How do you use toothpaste tablets?
Crush and Brush

Wet your toothbrush, pop one tablet in your mouth, chew until smooth and brush away! Spit out and you’re good to go!
You should not rinse after brushing - this is so the fluoride in your toothpaste works for longer and protects your teeth better.
Are all toothpaste tablets the same?
You may have come across some of these terms for toothpaste tablets:
- Toothpaste Tabs
- Toothpaste Bits
- Toothpaste Pills
- Chewable toothpaste
- Solid toothpaste
Are they all the same? In short, no! The safety and effectiveness of toothpaste (tablets) are dependent on their ingredients.
The European Regulation on Cosmetic Products requires the list of ingredients to be printed on the packaging. You should always check and read the labels to ensure you are using a brand that meets your individual needs.
Toothpaste Tablets with or without Fluoride
Dental Crush is available with or without fluoride. Although fluoride is generally recommended by dentists and leading governing bodies like the American Dental Association (ADA), we understand that for some it’s a personal choice to use a fluoride-free toothpaste.
Toothpaste Tablet Ingredients
Dental Crush is 100% gluten-free and vegan friendly! Here are our list of ingredients:
Microfine cellulose (Microcrystalline Cellulose) is a naturally occurring polymer. The microfine cellulose polishes the surface of your teeth. It creates a smooth surface, making it difficult for dental plaque to form.
Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) removes stains and helps to polish teeth.
Hydrated silica serves as a cleaning agent and helps to remove any soft plaque.
Citric acid regulates the pH together with sodium bicarbonate.
Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate is the surfactant (soap) in Dental Crush and is derived from coconut oil. “Glutamate” should not be confused with the flavour enhancers used in the food industry. Dental Crush is glutamate free.
Magnesium Stearate is a herbal adjuvant used in tablet manufacturing.
Natural (mint) aroma, stevia (sweet-tasting, plant-derived) and menthol provide a pleasant feeling of freshness.
Xanthan gum is formed during the fermentation of vegetable matter. It is a natural thickener and gelling agent and provides a pleasant creaminess after chewing Dental Crush.
Sodium fluoride (optional) this active ingredient supports the remineralisation of your enamel and protects against dental caries (tooth decay).
Eugenol is part of the natural mint flavour and has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties.
SLS Free Toothpaste
Because of the mixed evidence in scientific studies surrounding SLS containing toothpastes, we decided to omit this ingredient from Dental Crush from day one. Dental Crush is also free of Triclosan, DEA, Carrageenan and any other harsh chemicals, keeping your teeth clean and healthy without causing further sensitivity.
How should I store toothpaste tablets?
Dental Crush comes in a resealable packet, keeping them minty fresh in between uses. You can keep them in your bathroom just as you would with a tube of toothpaste. We recommend using them within 12 months of opening.

FAQ
Are your toothpaste tablets sold in glass jars?
We decided not to use glass. At Naked Company, we are trying to reduce waste. Glass is a tricky material to transport, it requires outer box packaging, impact protection packaging and void fill packaging to arrive safely at your doorstep.
Like you, we are also guilty of accidentally dropping our mobile phones. We felt glass jars could be a hazard in a slippery bathroom. So after must consideration, we decided to use kraft paper styled pouches.
Rest assured, it won’t shatter as bleary-eyed you fumbles for the toothbrush first thing in the morning!
