Toothpaste Tablets - the key to waste reduction?

November 03, 2019

Every year, Europeans generate 25m tonnes of plastic waste, but less than 30% is collected for recycling. More than 80% of marine litter is plastic.

Small changes, large impact. Switch to toothpaste tablets

Typically, a 75ml tube of conventional toothpaste packaging weighs 20g (exc. the outer cardboard carton). If brushing twice per day, consumers will use four tubes of toothpaste in 2 months. That’s 80g of plastic waste generated by one person.

Naked Company came up with a more eco-friendly solution; swapping toothpaste for toothpaste tablets. One packet of toothpaste tablets contains 120 tablets (2 month’s supply) and uses only 4g of packaging.

These crunchy tablets are dispensed from kraft paper styled packaging, eliminating the need for plastic tubes. Each packet of Dental Crush saves the environment from four plastic tubes and lasts four times longer than a standard 75ml tube of toothpaste. The packaging is resealable to keep the toothpaste tablets fresh and minty. Best yet, no more sticky toothpaste spills!

Naked's toothpaste tablets come in two options, with and without fluoride. They contain no preservatives or bindings agents to harm your health or our planet. Unlike other toothpaste manufacturers, our toothpaste alternative is free from SLS and triclosan.

How do you use toothpaste tablets?

Crush and Brush

Toothpaste tablets. Crush and Brush. Tooth tabs

Wet your toothbrush, pop one tablet in your mouth, chew until smooth and brush away! Spit out and you’re good to go!

Isn't that incredible? Biting down and brushing with a tablet to have the same effect as a toothpaste without harmful chemicals or excessive toothpaste packaging.

What are you waiting for? Let the foaming begin!
